Our Strategic Derailment Prevention training is a half-day seminar-style class aimed at senior leadership. In contrast to our traditional (tactical) Derailment Cause-Finding classes, the Strategic class explores why we investigate derailments, what to expect from your investigating personnel, how to understand their findings, and most of all, how to take action that prevents derailments.
Our derailment cause-finding class consists of one day of classroom instruction and a half-day of hands-on instruction. This class covers basic derailment physics, explained in an easy-to-understand way, coupled with the practical steps of working through a derailment investigation. Hands-on instruction not only reinforces classroom concepts, it gives students from all operating departments the opportunity to experience track inspection and truck teardowns together.
